Firefighters have tackled a large shed fire which had spread to nearby houses in Tamworth.

Crews were called at 7.15pm yesterday (Wednesday 20 May) to Winterdyne Lane, Harlaston, following reports of a shed well alight.

Five appliances, including one from West Midlands Fire Service, and the aerial ladder platform (ALP) attended the scene and found the fire had spread to the roofs of two nearby houses.

The fire was extinguished using three hose reel jets and a main jet. Nobody was reported injured.

Crews remained at the scene overnight to monitor hotspots.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is taking place today (Thursday 21 May).
