Crews tackle fire at derelict pub in Burton-upon-Trent

Firefighters have tackled a fire involving a derelict pub in Burton-upon-Trent.

We were called at 7pm yesterday (Monday 2 November) to Wood Lane, Yoxall, following reports of smoke coming from a building.

Five appliances and an aerial ladder platform (ALP) attended the scene and found a derelict pub well alight.

Crews used a hose reel jet and a main jet to extinguish a fire on the first floor and roof space.

Firefighters also carried out a precautionary check of the cellar but no fire was found.

An investigation into the cause of the fire will take place today (Tuesday 3 November).
