Crews tackle blaze involving three cars on retail park

We have extinguished three cars which were on fire at a retail park in Tamworth.

Crews from Lichfield and Tamworth were sent to Ventura Park Road just before 2.30pm yesterday (Thursday 12 October) after someone spotted three cars burning in the area.

Firefighters found a Volkswagen Polo on fire at the scene. It had spread to a blue Hyundai and a white Fiat.

The fire was extinguished just before 3.30pm using hose reel jets.

We carried out an assessment and later found the fire had been started accidently due to suspected faulty electrics in one of the cars.

After making sure no one was injured and everything was in order, we left the scene.
