Crews tackle accidental vehicle fire

Firefighters have tackled an accidental vehicle fire on the A50. 

We were called at 7.08am today (Thursday 24 September) to the westbound carriageway, near the junction of Grindley Lane in Blythe Bridge, following reports of a vehicle fire.

A broken down vehicle was found involved in fire.

Two crews attended and used a hose reel jet to put the fire out.

The fire was later deemed an accidental ignition as a result of an engine malfunction.

We left the scene at 7.50am.
