Crews reunited with dog rescued from house fire

One of our crews has recently been reunited with a dog they rescued from a house fire in Burntwood.

We were called just after 10.30pm on Sunday 26 April to a house on Queen Street in Chasetown following reports of a fire.

Three appliances attended the scene and extinguished a fire on the first floor.

Charlie, a cocker spaniel, was rescued by crews and received oxygen therapy at the scene before being taken to the vets.

Watch Manager Rich Rudge said: “Our breathing apparatus team searched and found Charlie in the house after he ran back inside.

“When Charlie was rescued, he had suffered smoke inhalation and we gave him oxygen therapy at the scene.

“It was amazing to see Charlie again and I am so glad that he has made a full recovery.

“Remember, if there is a fire in your home, get out, stay out, and call 999.”
