Crews rescue man from car stuck in flood water

Staffordshire flooding

We have rescued a man from a car after getting stuck in flood water in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Crews from Hanley, Newcastle and Stone went to Bent Lane, Whitmore, just before 9.30am yesterday morning (21 February).

Over the last few weeks, we’ve responded to lots of different incidents where people had become stuck in their vehicles in floodwater across Staffordshire.

If there’s floodwater on the road, try and find another route which is safer and don’t try to drive through it.

By driving through flood water, you could put yourself and others in danger. It could also cause severe damage to your vehicle and lead to expensive costs for your car to be repaired.

Thankfully, we managed to bring the man to safety without injury.
