Crews rescue horse stuck on bridge

Firefighters worked to rescue a horse which had got stuck on a bridge in Cellarhead.

We were called at 9.30am on Tuesday (16 June) to Leek Road and found a horse had got stuck on a handrail of a pedestrian bridge.

Crews used a telehandler to lift the horse to safety.

Station Manager Ant Ball said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to Dalecrete who supplied us with the telehandler we used to lift the horse from the bridge.”
