Crews extinguish fire inside derelict building in Stafford

Crews have worked to extinguish a fire involving a derelict building in Stafford.

We were called at 1am on Sunday (27 September) to Church Lane in Sandon following reports of a fire.

Four appliances attended the scene and found a derelict building well alight.

Crews removed roof tiles and used two hose reel jets and two main jets to extinguish the fire.

Thankfully nobody was reported injured.

Crews remained at the scene until 3pm to monitor and extinguish any hotspots.

The cause of the fire was deemed to be deliberate.
