Crews extinguish deliberate house fire

We have extinguished a house fire in Burton-on-Trent which was later deemed to be deliberate.

Crews from Burton and Tutbury went to an address near James Street just before 8.45pm on Saturday (27 January). They extinguished the fire by 9.15pm.

A neighbour close to the affected property was treated at the scene by West Midlands Ambulance Service for smoke inhalation.

We investigated the cause of the fire and later deemed it to have been started deliberately.

Our colleagues at Staffordshire Police are now investigating what happened.
