Crews called to large garage fire

Firefighters have extinguished a large garage fire in east Staffordshire.

We were called just after 10am today (Tuesday 9 June) to St Johns Road following reports of a fire.

Five appliances and our aerial ladder platform (ALP) attended the scene and found a garage well alight. The fire had spread to two nearby houses.

The houses were evacuated and two people were assessed by paramedics at the scene. They did not require hospital treatment.

Crews extinguished the fire using four main jets and four hose reel jets.

An investigation into the cause of the fire will take place in due course.
