Crews attend large business fire

Firefighter in breathing apparatus tackling red flames

Firefighters are currently in attendance at a large fire at a business premises on Derby Road in Stretton.

Crews were called at 7.40am this morning following reports of a plume of smoke being spotted in the area.

Firefighters from Burton, Cannock, Rugeley, Tamworth and Tutbury remain at the scene.

No one has been reported injured.

Crews are using two main jets to extinguish the fire which is currently 30m by 30m.

Staffordshire Police are also in attendance and have closed Derby Road up to the A38 and Hawkins Lane.

Drivers should avoid the area.

Nearby residents should close their windows and doors.

Nearby businesses and residents may have their water supply disrupted.
