Crews extinguish combine harvester on fire
We have extinguished a combine harvester fire in Abbots Bromley.
We were called around 7pm on Monday (29 July) after the vehicle caught fire on the B5013.
Multiple crews attended the scene and four breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets were used to extinguish the fire and stop it from spreading to the nearby woodland.
Crews also worked to limit the spread of leaking fuel and oil from the vehicle to protect the environment alongside Staffordshire Highways.
Colleagues from Staffordshire Police also attended to manage the road closure.
Thankfully, the cause of the fire was deemed to be accidental and no-one was injured.
Wholetime and on-call firefighters work hard every day to keep communities safe in Staffordshire in incidents like this one.
