Business fire extinguished
Firefighters have tackled a fire inside a business in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.
We were called at 2.55pm on Friday (30 October) to Trinity Street following reports of smoke coming from a takeaway.
Five appliances and an aerial ladder platform (ALP) attended the scene and found a fire on the ground floor of a four-storey building.
Crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire and thankfully nobody was reported injured.
The building was reinspected at 9pm before crews left at 10pm.
The cause of the fire was deemed to be accidental.
Station Manager Helen Chadwick attended the scene. She said: “Crews worked quickly to sectorise the building and start to extinguish the fire which was found in the kitchen area.
“This allowed us to minimise spread and protect the building from further damage.
“I would like to remind all businesses to keep their fire risk assessments up to date as it is not only a legal requirement but key for protecting businesses from fire.”
