Burton gets ready to host a fun-filled fire-day
We’re getting ready to host a fire fun day at Burton Community Fire Station.
On Friday 9 August, we’re opening our doors between 11am – 3pm to welcome members of the community to have a fun-filled day in aid of the Fire Fighters Charity.
There will be a bouncy castle, ice cream and burger vans, fun activities and even a visit from the local football team, Burton Albion Football Club.
There will also be an opportunity to have a look round a fire engine, meet our firefighters and much more.
Station Manager Andy Bourne said: “We’re really exciting to welcome the community to our fun day to give people an insight into what we do, learn about fire safety and have fun day out in aid of the Fire Fighters charity.
“There will also be opportunities to find out more about joining the Service as an on-call firefighter, reminding residents to regularly test their smoke alarms as well as other fire safety tips.
“Everyone is welcome to attend, there is something for everyone and we’re hoping that everyone can make it.”
All profits from the fun day will go to the Fire Fighters Charity who provide specialist support to members of the fire service community.
