Terms and Conditions

Safety Stars competition

  • To be eligible to enter the competition, participants must be aged 5-11 years old and be residents of Staffordshire – a parent/guardian/teacher/voluntary group leader will need to send us the video and interact through email on their behalf.

  • This competition is open to groups only. Films created with a minimum group size of 3, up to a maximum group size of 35, will be eligible.

  • To enter the competition, a group leader (parent/guardian/teacher/voluntary group leader) needs to submit a short film (a maximum of 2 minutes long) to our email address by Friday 27th May 2022. As the file size will be large, we ask you to use we-transfer, a free online system, to generate a link for the video, which you can then send to us at: campaigns.engagement@staffordshire.police.uk

  • When you send your film please remember to include a contact name, and clarification of which age group your group falls into (5-7 or 8-11).

  • The names of those groups who submit their film before the closing date, and meet the other eligibility criteria mentioned in these terms and conditions, will be judged by Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service employees, and one film will be chosen as a winner for each age category. We will contact the winning groups using the contact details they used when they submitted the video.

  • This competition is limited to one entry per group - a parent/guardian/teacher/voluntary group leader may submit more than one entry on behalf of different children.

  • The prize is one visit to a Staffordshire Fire Station, there will be one prize available for each age group (5-7 and 8-11).

  • The winning video for each age category will be shown during a virtual Safe+Sound broadcast in June 2022. By taking part in this competition you give your permission for the footage submitted to be broadcast as part of this show.

  • If nobody enters the prize will carry over to future competitions.

  • The prize stated is non-transferable and there will be no cash or other substitution. However, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service reserve the right to substitute a similar prize of equal or greater value in the event of the above prize being unavailable for any reason.

  • By entering into the competition you give permission for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service to use your competition entry and first name in Service publicity, both electronically or paper based, unless otherwise ‘opting out’ in writing.

  • By entering, each contestant agrees to be bound by the terms and conditions.

  • Should the winner not acknowledge receipt of their win within seven days of receiving notice that they have won the competition, we reserve the right to choose another winner or not fulfil the prize.

  • In the event that the promoter believes that an entry contravenes these terms and conditions it reserves the right to delete the entry at its absolute and sole discretion.
