A time capsule will be buried at the new Lichfield Community Fire Station to celebrate the re-building.
We are really looking forward to celebrating the opening of the new station with this time capsule and it would be great to see the community we serve getting involved and contributing to the capsule.
The ceremony will take place at the station on Birmingham Road in Lichfield on Friday July 13 at 10 and residents are invited to celebrate with the Service and make contributions.
The theme of the capsule will be 25 years of the past, present and future of the Service and residents are welcome to make contributions to the capsule. These would need to be A4 size or smaller in order to fit in the capsule.
Station Manager Damian Armstrong said: “We are really looking forward to celebrating the opening of the new station with this time capsule and it would be great to see the community we serve getting involved and contributing to the capsule.
“We already have items from the Police Cadets, community room users, staff, local schools, the Rainbows and the University of the 3rd Age but any others would be really welcome.
“Following an extremely busy period in the fire service we really value this opportunity to celebrate with the community, who have shown us so much support and contribute something to the future of the fire service. Hopefully the capsule will highlight some fond memories and interesting stories when it is opened in 25 years.”
Donations must be taken to the station by 5pm Tuesday, July 10. Anyone who has an enquiry about the event or wishes to make a donation to the capsule is asked to please contact Station Manager Damian Armstrong on 01785 898723 or email Damian.firstname.lastname@example.org. Questions can also be answered by Marie Coles, who can be contacted on 01785 898653 or email@example.com.
