As families come together to celebrate the holidays Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service is wishing residents a Christmas free from fire in their homes.
We know fire safety might not be at the forefront of people’s minds at this time of year but as we have already seen some tragic incidents throughout the country recently we are really keen to ensure everyone stays safe throughout the holidays.
The Service has been to dozens of incidents during the holidays over the years, most of which could have been prevented, including some tragic deaths. SFRS has therefore released a video to highlight firefighters’ Christmas wish; not to see you over the holidays.
Firefighters do not want to see you affected by tragedy this year and are asking the public to follow their advice to ensure you have a safe Christmas and New Year.
Director of Prevent and Protect Glynn Luznyj said: “We know fire safety might not be at the forefront of people’s minds at this time of year but as we have already seen some tragic incidents throughout the country recently we are really keen to ensure everyone stays safe throughout the holidays.
“By following these simple tips you can have a fun filled Christmas whilst ensuring you don’t see us.
“This video stars one of our own firefighters, Bryan Brindley, who has kindly volunteered to sing the Christmas classic in order to get the message out there to keep our community safe.”
