Crews free trapped driver after collision in Stoke-on-Trent
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service is recruiting on-call firefighters for Tamworth Mercia Community Fire Station.
We’re looking for people who want to make a valuable and worthwhile contribution to their local community.
The Service is inviting those interested in finding out more about becoming a retained firefighter to the station on Lichfield Street at 7pm on Thursday, August, 16.
Applicants need to be over the age of 18 and must live or work within five minutes of the station; so they can respond to emergency incidents quickly.
Kim Harrison, Retained Support Officer, said: “We’re looking for people who want to make a valuable and worthwhile contribution to their local community.
“To be a retained firefighter you need to have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills – you will need to attend an initial training course at our headquarters in Stone, along with additional courses to enhance your skills to be able to use equipment such as cutting equipment and breathing apparatus.
“We are looking for people from a diverse range of backgrounds and would encourage anyone who is interested to pop along to the event to find out more.”
Anyone who is unable to attend but is interested in applying can find out more information on our retained on-call firefighter page.
