As the most recent participants on the Prince’s Trust Team Programme come to the end of their 12-week courses and enjoy their graduation events, the New Year will see the Team Leaders offering new opportunities for young people to gain new skills and experiences.
Get Started, which is supported by the European Social Fund, is aimed at young people aged 16-25 and out of work, education or training. It gives them the chance to take part in a week of activities with help from inspirational experts.
Following on from the graduation events of Team 1 in Tamworth (Friday, December 14 2018) and Team 4 in Cannock on Thursday, December 20 which saw 15 young people complete the programme, the Get Started schemewill be offering taster days in January for its one-week courses which will start later in the month.
Prince’s Trust Delivery Partner Manager, James Hettihewa-Young said: “Get Started, which is supported by the European Social Fund, is aimed at young people aged 16-25 and out of work, education or training. It gives them the chance to take part in a week of activities with help from inspirational experts. Participants work towards a group challenge while developing their skills and confidence. It’s completely free and won’t affect their Jobseeker’s Allowance. Lunch and travel expenses are also covered. The course ends with a celebration of everything they’ve achieved at a special event where family and friends are also invited to come along.”
