As the nights draw in and the temperatures drop, will you be sleeping with danger?

|The annual electric blanket campaign has now started and will continue throughout September. Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, Staffordshire County Council and Stoke-on-Trent City Council will again be testing electric blankets free of charge at venues across the County. A massive 50% of electric blankets were found to be unsafe last year!

Any electric blankets that fail the testing will not be handed back, but those aged over 60 and living in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire will be offered a brand new single or double under blanket as a replacement - read more... |

Firefighters attended a fire at Norton Aluminium Products, Norton Green Lane, Norton Canes yesterday evening. The emergency call was received at 17.46pm and crews from Chase Terrace, Cannock and Lichfield were initially sent to the incident.
