Pod and Prime Mover

This Demountable Environment Pod unit was built by Saxon Sandbec of Sandbach to Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service's specification in partnership with the Environment Agency

It is of curtain sided construction and transports a range of equipment and materials throughout the county including submersible pumps, absorbent materials, oversized containers for damaged drums and inflatable boom equipment for the containment of spillages.

The unit is able to deal with a variety of incidents and minimises the effect on the environment from emergency situations

This pod unit is carried on a MAN 18 tonne 4x2 Prime Mover with a 7 litre MAN intercooled turbo diesel engine coupled to a ZF fully automatic 5 speed gearbox and integral retarder, complete with Multilift Hooklift demounting equipment fitted by Partek Cargotec of Ellesmere Shropshire.

The Prime Mover is capable of carrying a range of demountable units for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service as and when required.
