F.A.Q Page 1: Q. Where does it say that I have to carry out fire training?
A. Fire safety legislation makes it a requirement to provide information, instruction and training to all employees and persons
who may access your premises (cleaners, contractors, members of the public).
The requirements are detailed in the following pieces of legislation -
- The (Regulatory Reform) Fire Safety Order 2005
- Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
Q. Is there a minimum number and maximum number of people who can go on courses ?
A. It depends on the course and numbers you require training. Generally if you have 10 + people to train it is more beneficial
for us to deliver training on your site. We hold fire Safety Courses at Fire Service Headquarters throughout the year to cater
for smaller numbers. Maximum numbers are 20 persons for a practical course and 25 persons for a theory course.
Q. What do I need to provide for a training course to take place on my site?
A. We need a suitable room with a power source where theory training can be carried out. For a practical course we require
in addition to the room an area outside approximately 10m x 10m to conduct live fire practical training.
Q. I would like to attend a training course at your Headquarter site. Where is it located?
A. We are located just off the A34 between Stone and Stafford. Click here to view a site
