In order to tackle arson and its effects the Government have set ambitious targets for The Fire and Rescue Service to reduce the number of deliberate fires by 10% by 31st March 2010. Best Value Performance Indicators BVPI 206 = number of deliberate fires/10,000 population will be used to evaluate the performance in reducing the number of deliberate fires.
