Reducing the risk of fire and preventative work carried out in the community is now regarded as one of the most important aspects of the Fire and Rescue Service's work.

Our aim to make Staffordshire a safer place to live work and visit; committed in our efforts to reduce the risks to the community we serves. By adopting a risk based approach we aim to target our resources to those most vulnerable in society and therefore where they will be most effective.

We are striving to achieve this through three main objectives.

  • PREVENTING

  • PROTECTING

  • RESPONDING

Prevention is best achieved by educating everybody to understand the risks of fire and takes simple action to limit the chances of one occurring and knowing how to react if one does occur. These include activities that are at the heart of the work that is fundamental to the Service.
