Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service have teamed up with local partners in South Staffordshire in an attempt to educate children in the Wombourne Community about fire safety in the home.
The Fire Service, South Staffordshire Housing Association and Wombourne Community Learning Centre organised an Art Day at Wombourne Fire Station on Monday. Thirteen children, all aged between 4 and 13 and from the Giggerty area, attended the event and they were each tasked with designing eye catching poster to educate people about fire safety in the home.
Professional artist Katherine Waters also joined in with fun by lending her expertise to the children and helping them with their designs.
"The day was a great success, it allowed us to get across those all important fire safety messages to the children in a fun yet hard hitting way. It’s going to be a difficult decision for the judges to pick a winner as the quality of all the art work is just outstanding."
