Road Safety

road traffic collision

Here at Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service we have a commitment, with partners, to reduce the numbers of people killed or seriously injured on our roads.

We attend road traffic collisions on a daily basis and at the more serious incidents we are often required to cut casualties free from their vehicles using specialist cutting equipment.

We form part of a group called the Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership. The Partnership consists of ourselves along with Staffordshire Police, Staffordshire County Council, Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Her Majesty's Court Service, West Midlands Ambulance Service and the three Primary Care Trusts within Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.

The Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership was set-up in 2001 to make a positive contribution to achieving the Department of Transport's target to reduce the number of people killed and seriously injured by 40 per cent by 2010.

The partnership has its own dedicated website where you can find out all you need to know about road safety, whether you be a driver a parent or a teacher. Go to website.
