New Years Resolutions:

  • I will test my smoke alarms weekly

  • I will register all electrical appliances and gadgets
  • I will clean cookers and grill pans to prevent build-up of fat (this can spark fires)
  • I won’t drink heavily then cook
  • I will not get distracted whilst cooking or leave it unattended
  • I will check on elderly relatives, friends and neighbours regularly and help them check their home for fire risks
  • I will keep internal doors closed to reduce fire spread
  • I will not leave clothes or flammable items near to heaters
  • I will carry out regular checks on my vehicle and ensure it is safe to drive before getting behind the wheel.
