The Service is holding recruitment days at Tamworth Fire Station, on Lichfield Street, on Wednesday, February 22 at 6pm and Saturday, February 25 at 10am.
"Being a retained firefighter is a great way to give something back to local people at the same time as supplementing your income"
Retained Support Officer Kim Harrison
The event gives anyone interested in learning more about becoming a retained firefighter a chance to visit the station, speak to the crew and try their hand at some of the entry tests.
It also gives residents the opportunity to learn more about what being a retained firefighter actually entails.
Retained Support Officer Kim Harrison said: “We are keen to hear from people who want to join our first class service and to play an integral role in keeping the communities where they live or work safe.
“Being a retained firefighter is a great way to give something back to local people at the same time as supplementing your income. On call firefighters receive the same high level of training as their full time colleagues and attend incidents ranging from fires to floods and road traffic collisions. Enthusiasm and motivation are key qualities that we will be looking for as well as the ability to work in a tight knit team.”
