To progress through the Service you will need to develop your skills and demonstrate a level of competency before taking part in an assessment centre and interview process to determine your suitability for the role.

  • 30 days annual leave.
  • On appointment you will be eligible to join the Firefighters’ Pension Scheme 2006.
  • Current salary for a newly appointed Firefighter is £21,157 rising to £22,038 during development and £28,199 when competent.
  • Maternity leave, irrespective of length of service, guaranteed a job on return to work.
  • Paternity leave, you must have been continuously employed for at least 26 weeks before the expected week of childbirth.
