Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service - Preventing, Protecting, Responding

Could You Be a Firefighter?

Got what it takes?

The most common perception of the Fire Service is one of firefighters riding in fire appliances and fighting fires. This is true, but in today’s modern Fire Service the role of a firefighter is much more varied.

A firefighter can expect not only to fight fires but also to attend road traffic collisions, provide assistance to Councils with floods, release people who are trapped in accidents.

They also engage a pro-active approach in community fire safety - explaining the risks of fire, fitting a smoke alarm and preventing fires and accidents from happening in the first place.
