Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service has teamed up with Domino’s Pizza to encourage Stafford residents to book a free Home Fire Risk Check.

“We’ve selected the Penkside and Highfields areas of Stafford because these are areas where we unfortunately have a low Home Fire Risk Check uptake. Hopefully the incentive of a free pizza will increase this uptake and we can make more people as safe as possible from fire in their homes.”

Prevent Manager, Carmel Warren.

The pilot project means that anyone in the Penkside or Highfields areas who quote ‘Domino’s Pizza’ when they book a free Home Fire Risk Check (HFRC) will receive a voucher after their HFRC has been completed for a medium pizza from the Newport Road Domino’s branch.

Prevent Manager, Carmel Warren said: “We’re always keen to push our free Home Fire Risk Checks and this is a great opportunity for us to promote this service to as many people as possible by teaming up with a popular takeaway outlet. Domino’s Pizza has successfully supported fire safety initiatives in the United States and so we were keen to trial an initiative here in Staffordshire.

Ben Sandy, franchisee for Domino’s Pizza in Stafford said:  “We are delighted to be assisting the local Fire and Rescue Service in this project.

“Raising the awareness of fire safety in the home is an important issue and one which we are pleased to support.  Having a smoke alarm fitted is such a simple task, but so many people don’t bother to do it.

“Hopefully with our joint efforts the residents of Stafford will take that first step in protecting their homes and their loved ones.  I hope this promotion will prove successful and that our customers will take advantage of this offer.”

A free Home Fire Risk check involves firefighters or a technician visiting your home to fit smoke alarms, identify any fire risks and discuss fire safety. Appointments can be made for a mutually convenient time by ringing FREEPHONE 0800 0241 999.
