Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service will once again be opening its Headquarters doors for the bi annual Family Day. The event which will be taking place on Saturday 25th September between 12.30pm and 4.30pm is expected to be an exciting action packed and fun filled day for all.

Visitors will be able to watch casualty rescues from simulated road traffic collisions, real rescues from a smoke filled building, animal and water rescue teams and a high altitude rope rescue. There will be an opportunity for children to don breathing apparatus equipment and be led through our real fire training house; also visitors can go on a tour of the emergency control room where 999 calls are received.

Community Safety Information will be available to all from both the Fire Service and other community partners, the Police, Ambulance, First Responders, Trading Standards, Red Cross plus many more. Staffordshire Police will be joining us this year with their Armed Response Vehicle along with the forensics team. Visitors will be invited to try out the magic finger print equipment.

If its emergency vehicles you are interested in there will be more than enough to keep everyone happy, Fire Engines for the children to climb into, High Volume Pumping Appliance (HVPP), Targeted Response Vehicle (TRV), Welfare Pod, Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP), Animal Rescue Vehicle, Water Rescue Vehicle, Police Armed Response Vehicle, an Ambulance, Fire Emergency Support Vehicle plus lots more.

Lots of fun activities will be available from pony rides to clowns and jugglers. Bring along a picnic and join Blaze Bear in the Teddy Bears Picnic area. Food is available at the event with BBQ, Hog Roast, and more. Entry is FREE and car parking available. Proceeds from the event will be donated to The Fire Fighters Charity.
